Anniversary Card

Yes it's also that time of year for my self and Paul
1 October marks the day... the day we met... awww
So I have sneakily made a card...
It is at this moment in time hidden
but I took some pics so I could show..
I can quiet easily say that Paul will not look at my blog...
He doesn't show much interest.. apart from the odd comment
"you spend hours blog hopping..
or who you commenting on now!!"
kind of thing
The card
I have followed the sketch for
The Cutie Pie challenge blog
but I have used am image from
Crafters companion..I think it is Daisy and Dandelion !!
I have just been to check but can not find it in my history
Anyway on my card I wanted Daisies but I don't have any (rolls eyes)
Make my own time.. I tried cutting out the petals but couldn't get them small enough and the same size
so out came my spellbinders borderabilites
Fleur De Lis
I had to put it through my machine a few times as I needed a lot of petals
here they are

I used a basic yellow flower as a base to stick the petals onto
took some time I can tell you

here is the die I used, I used the top pointy bit for the petals
and you can see the flowers finished.
In the centre of each I used one of my new gems.
then all I had to do was pop the card together..
The image and the papers are all from the same download
I added the sentiment from a different set
it says
"I love hanging around with you"
I then just added some green gems to two corners
here is the decoupage close up, isn't it sweet

what's going on....

Another week seems to have flown by or is it just me ?
do you feel the same.. ?
It seems like it was only yesterday that I was getting ready for a BBQ
and now I am doing the same again.
Only this week it is just the three of us
So homemade burgers, chicken and a small amount of ribs,
I have been speaking to friends over in the UK,
and it seems their having a strange but gladly wanted summer !!
I don't know .. we moan when it's cold..but then we moan when it hot
what's that all about !!!!
Over here in Portugal it has been warm... not over bearing but warm enough to sunbathe
although I have not had time,
This weekend sees the grass cutting !! yes the whole weekend
It takes so much time.. it is nice having a HUGE garden
but the work is unreal..
in an ideal world I would have a Gardner..
just like the one on Desperate Housewives

And who wouldn't !!!
I can just see me sat on the balcony watching !! lol
But no it will be me and Paul doing all the work.
so not much in the line of crafting will be happening
(sad face)
I do have something to show today tho

A little boys birthday card..
How sweet is this image..
it is from Bugaboo
I think it was a freebie..if not it is one I have won
here is the inside of the card
I am entering into
Simon Says - Anything Goes
they are trying to get 1000 entries this week so go on over and link up your work

Tiny tags..

Over at ABC Christmas challenge they are asking for
set of 4 Tiny cards or 4 tags..
I have had my tags sat waiting to be put together for over a week now..
so thought why not get them done..
although I have only done 4.
I have used a freebie digi from Bagaboo ovar at
Sew many Challenges
Here they are in two's so you can see them better
I did do them fairly simple and as flat as possible
so they will be easier to pack into the box to go into the car
I have left two blank as I still don't know who they will be used for
They may even have my name on.. if Paul uses them
I hope this meets to challenge rules.

I am also entering these into

121

Well it's that time of the week again, where you can go and take a peek at other peoples work desks...
if you go on over to the queen of desk's
Julia Dunnit.. you will see a fairly long list
but it is early in the day... the list will grow
I am not working at my desk at the moment.
I am laid in bed not feeling too good..
But i did toddle through and take a picture
of  how I left it last time I was there.
on the left is the next project..Another Christmas card
using a Tickled pink Digi called Victorian Christmas Cristina
I have coloured her in, she just needs adding to a card
I was on You tube earlier and I have been looking at different card shapes
And I have decided I am going to put her onto a
ZigZag card.
In the middle is the beginning's of...
Anniversary card for Paul..shhh
Then on the right, just some more images printed out that need colouring
I may do a couple today but to be honest I am not in the mood at all.

oh just one more picture, I couldn't resist.
and I had totally forgotten I had this picture
Two wet dogs... and In the same bed..!!
Kiya must have got in after Tasmin...
but then Tasmin is in Kiya's bed
So Kiya squeezed in on the right...

Right that all from me today
Thanks for popping over and enjoy looking at all them workdesk's

Male card..with ...

Flowers !!!
Not sure if I can really put flowers onto a card for a man
But with the card I have made it's all I could think off.
Any suggestions for next time will be good.
It is a easel card....I enjoy making them,
And I do have a few of these now.
I bought them from The Clipart Fairy
Take a look she does some wonderful things
I have also just bought some backing papers..
called Yummy...and they are what they are called.
onto the card

I have made this for my uncle whos birthday is in december
I wont have to post it...I will be able to hand deliver !!!
I added silver ribbon down the centre and added a bow to the top
the flower centres have silver sticky dots in them
here is the card with the box I made
As you can see I printed one of the pages onto card before making the box
so it would match
I then went round the edge with silver peel off's
here is a closer view of the box
just one more picture of the card inside the box

I do have this design in pink also....
I bought it just in case I have to make a baby girl card
you see we have news

Paul's daughter is pregnant again
she is due in march..
And I am secretly wanting her to have a girl.
she has a boy Olly so a girl would be nice.

Evening to you all on this

Fine Monday night....
Today has been quite warm over here in the back of beyond
So I have got a few housey jobs done
I have had the horrible task of making a card for a man
yes the dreaded male species..
the ones that are a pain to make cards for..
the one in question is Paul's daughters husband...
And hes a football fanatic.... to what I think is the worst team in the world
bet you can't guess which !!!!!!
Anyway I wasn't looking forward to making this card at all..
and I have to admit its not the best card in the world...

I mean come on... Manchester United....
and to top it..Eric Cantona...
Anyway it is now made and ready to be posted.
And am sure he will like it.
Especially seen as I have edited out the Manchester United
and replaced it with Happy Birthday
Apparently its not the done thing to do !!!
haha
Thanks for stopping by xx

It's just me...

We popped out yesterday to the local Chinese shop..
No not to buy food...
 ooo a Chinese take away
Chicken chow mein and Fried rice...yummy
How easily distracted am I  !!!!
But no.. the Chinese shops over here sell clothes
and general things, A bit similar to Wilkinson's in the UK
(If they still have them !!! )
I was on the lookout for some paper flowers, I spotted them last time I was there but only bought one pack as I didn't know if I would like them
well I do so I thought I would buy a couple this time seen as I am enjoying using them on my cards,
and I have ran out.. but as you can guess..none..
So I ended up buying these.

Look lots of gems... 12 little flower shape cases, inside a larger case..
I couldn't leave them in the shop as they were shouting at me, saying buy me were only 1 euro
Bargain me thinks...oh and then when I was wondering around the rest of the shop I found these

More ribbon... Each reel was 75 cents, I  did only buy three, as I will buy more next weekend, and there are so many colours to choose from I could easily spend 100 euros no problem
although that would mean 133 reels of ribbon..
Which is cheap compared to some places I have seen on the internet  and then I noticed the sewing pins with nicely coloured ends
they are not the small ones they are the long ones... and I thought I could use them in my flowers.
again they were 50 cents... for all three reels !!
The flowers I am disappointed with not getting, but then it was a different shop,
so I am on a mission to go to the first one we went to, to find flowers.

It seems like ages since I have posted anything...
Card wise so I thought I would share another
Christmas card with you all.... I know another
I am slowly working my way up to 100 for my
mum in law.. as well as making Family cards.
This one I have made for a member of Paul's Family

I have used one of my new images from
Tickled Pink  she is called
Victorian Christmas Cristina
Isn't she lovely, I bought her as I thought she would be great for Birthday's too
I have coloured her with pencil in shades of grey
with just her eyes, choker and holly and berries in colour.
Here is my finished card... I say finished it isnt
I still need to add the name of the recipient on the front
BUT as a just in case she looks on here I am leaving it off.
Wouldn't want her to see her card before Christmas would I now.
The flowers are actually cream I used memento ink in rhubarb stalk to colour the edges.
And I have used one of the pins, with a bow attached before sticking it into the flowers.

I have two challenges that this card will be ok for
they are
Simon Says Stamp - use dies and / or punches
I have used my die for the white leaves
Southern Girls Challenge blog - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by once again xx

I had to share this story/truth with you all
I was on my facebook earlier and read this
and it brought tears to my eyes

This is so sad :'( ....
Her hair was up in a pony tail,
Her favourite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
And she couldn't wait to go.
But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
if she went to school alone.
But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn't there today.
 But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.
But the little girl went to school
Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
 A dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back,
 For everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
Anxious in their seats
One by one the teacher called
 A student from the class.
 To introduce their daddy,
 As seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name,
 every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
A man who wasn't there.
 'Where's her daddy at?'
She heard a boy call out.
'She probably doesn't have one,'
 another student dared to shout.
And from somewhere near the back,
 she heard a daddy say,
'Looks like another deadbeat dad, Too busy to waste his day.'
The words did not offend her,
As she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
Who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back,
 slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
Came words incredibly unique.

'My Daddy couldn't be here, because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be, since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him, I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy, And how much he loves me so.
He loved to tell me stories He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses, And taught me to fly a kite.
We used to share fudge sundaes, And ice cream in a cone.
And athough you cannot see him. I'm not standing here alone.
'Cause my daddy's always with me, Even though we are apart
I know because he told me, He'll forever be in my heart'
With that, her little hand reached up,
And lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
beneath her favourite dress.
And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
Her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
Who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love
Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
Doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down,
Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.

'I love my daddy very much, he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here, But heaven's just too far.
You see he is a British soldier And died just this past year
When a roadside bomb hit his convoy And taught Britain’s to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes, it's like he never went away.'

And then she closed her eyes,
And saw him there that day.
 And to her mothers amazement,
She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.
Who knows what they saw before them,
Who knows what they felt inside.
 Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.

'I know you're with me Daddy,'

To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.
Not one in that room could explain it,
For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed rose.
And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
That heaven is never too far

I do hope This hasn't upset anyone..
(unlike me who has tears in her eyes from double checking spelling etc)
But it is just too nice not to share
and just goes to show how people jump to conclusions
without knowing any facts.
Please feel free to share this

Have a lovely weekend with family and freinds

What a day..and take three

What a day I have had today..
All was quiet in our huge house
When I made a BIG mistake whilst cleaning
I took the leads off the hook by the front door
To polish it...doh... claire wake up...
(rolls eyes)
do you not remember that
they can hear that noise miles away...

Two dogs... Way to excited and going absolutely scatty
so...this morning I was dog walking earlier than normal...
All was going OK ish..
Hannah was lagging behind,
Tasmin was behaving for once and walking fairly close.
Kiya being walked by Hannah knows best not to misbehave Hannah sure knows how to tug the lead to stop her pulling !!!
I was wondering in front being my usual nosey self
when Hannah screeched behind me
"MUM"
At first I thought it was Hannah in trouble...
I turned round and pulled Tasmin back
Hannah screeched again.
I could see nothing wrong !!!
Hannah then shouts look at Tasmin
well....
well..
well.
my fluffy black cocker spaniel
Tasmin before the walk

had just walked through..
White wet paint...
she all of a sudden had..
White Paws, white splodges up all four legs her belly was now white.!!!
OMG
rush home..and hope it is water based Paint.
I cant take her in the bathroom means going through half the house so straight into the Kitchen sink...
Tasmin... water.... soap
Scrub, scrub, scrub..
Pick Tasmin up...look at her legs
Still white...
Try again with the scrubbing... not going to come off !!
So I transfare Tasmin into a towel and find my mobile
the vets number and pass them to Hannah
She can speak Portuguese...
I would probebly end up saying that Tasmin needs her head cut off or something similar
Hannah explained and was told to bring Tasmin in.
They could fit her in...!!
So we drove to vets and they said they would get as much out as possible
OK
Hour later my mobile rings... Hannah answers as it's the vets
They have done their best but could they cut her hair.
I said yes and they told me to pick her up in an hour
look what I now have

A very unhappy little Tasmin
lesson for today
LOOK WHERE I AM WALKING NOT AT PEOPLES GARDENS
and yes she is sat on my craft chair !!
AGAIN

Onto take three now..
Less is more once again
This is very plain
just white card stock with the digi image printed on
and then coloured using pencil crayons

A closer view of the butterfly
which I thought would stand out more if  left it mainly white !!
Thanks for popping over and I do hope you come back again soon
