Spooky Photo

Is the theme for my card

Over at Tickled Pink Challenge 

they have asked us to create from this Photo

So here is what I came up with

I have to admit my image is a Christmas image

not spooky looking at all...

But guess what

Now I have coloured her she is

She is a tad green...lol

the image is Lil Christmas Ivy

although for this card she is now called

Lil Green Ivy

I have coloured her in pencil in grey

My base card is white I then layered with Black

then on top of that Orange

The background image I found on Google

it was bright Orange so I changed it in Photoshop

I just liked the spooky feel of the sky

with the shadow building, trees, and ghouls

I then added a handmade pumpkin

cut out with my craft knife 

to look like one I made when I was younger.

Then on went some spiders
I do hope it is Ok not to use a Halloween Image

Paper take Challenge

Morning all...

Over at Papertake weekly it's sketch time

It was a really nice sketch to work with too

I often have problems with layouts

but I do like this one.

here is what I came up with

Strawberry Shortcake

Isn't she a cutie

I have been sorting out Hannah's books..

she has lots and lots of them

some too easy for her to read.

Anyway I got my hands on one..

and cut the pictures out

tada...an image for this card

The papers are from Clipart Fairy

They are lovely colours.

I then just added a pink bow and some Candi

I am going to go off and colour now

ready for a Orange Card

Not made Orange before so a little nervous

Standing for...

Well it's Whats on your Work desk Wednesday again

the weeks sure are flying by. 

but do hop over to Julia's and have a nose about

Oh and the weather has changed dramatically

Over here in what was sunny Portugal

it is now... dark and rainy

not the jump out of bed sunshine weather at all

that weather that makes you think

5 more minutes wont hurt.. but I am up

Paul has gone off to work Hannah is still in bed

it is just me and Tasmin. Even Kiya has gone back to bed

onto business

you came to look at my desk

I can tell you there is not a lot happening

most of it isnt even mine. I packed !!

then unpacked a few bits... (grin)

putting some of them away again

You see the little brown box, it has Allen keys in

I needed it to take Hannah's dolls house apart

Well the knife on top was also used

I know typical women

but, it was raining and I didn't want to walk to garage

so though knife will do it..It did it too

just don't tell Paul..lol

I spy Hannah's glasses

The rest is mine but its being taken by the removal company.

the desk will be burnt on the fire before we leave.

your wondering why.. well it is made of chip board

I just added the pics to the top 

Then Paul worked his magic with shellac

Paul is going to make me a nice new one

BIGGER and with more storage under. With proper wood

Well that's it from me  I am going to have a quick ten

maybe an hour wondering around the world looking at others

then it is craft time I have four images looking at me

Lazy Cat Card

Just a quicky as we are going for a walk

Have spent a couple of hours taking Hannah's doll's house apart

and sorting out into a box

Wow so much more room now

anyway I made this card last night after tea

using up some more scrappy bits of paper

The Image I have had coloured for a while

isn't that cat cute..and the little mouse asleep also !!!

I think the paper is from Clipart Fairy

everything else is from stash I have Unpacked..lol

One of my best friends has a cat just like this

will sleep anywhere

and its her birthday in two weeks

so we are posting this while on our walk

oh one more thing 

How on earth is Tasmin sat

Haha..she makes me laugh

Looking rather grumpy too..

Waiting on the daily walk

Quick Post

BRRRR it is cold this morning...

So cold I am thinking about lighting the fire in the living room

I popped on to post my 4th card for

CDAC Progressive Challenge

It is a fairly small card... 

For me anyway

I usually stick to half A4

The Image I am using is from

Sew Many cards, and is called

"turkey"

here is my tiny card

He is rather cute...

I may even have another go with him 

in different colours

right I have to go..busy day today

Blue Christmas

Here is my third card for CDAC progressive challenge

The image used is by Just Some Lines

and is one of the freebies given to work with.

he's called "Angel Teddy Hard Day"

They are asking us to do cool colours.

here is what I have done

I coloured him with pencil in blues.. 

and tried to do shading on the cloud.. 

not sure it worked so well though

I then distressed in blue around the edges

He was then placed on top of my layered card

I used peel off's for the wording and corners.

  used blue card stock as I seem to have a lot of it !!

for some strange reason

and the weather is nice where you are

one last little thing

I have put my new ribbon away 

I am thinking the same as you

I know there are gaps that need filling lol

Christmas Wreaths and a little shopping

Yes you read that right...

I have been out shopping...

Went to Aveiro about 30km away

To the Chinese shop..The big one

And my oh my did I have fun

but before that I have been playing with Ribbon

And made a set of five cards..

I followed the tutorial on Meiflower

I liked the first one so much I made another four

All from Scraps of paper

I will just show the one single !!

Now I have to show you what fell into the basket

How naughty !!

Look a euro each.. 

three little princesses, a whole bunch of keys, 

and some anchors,

Then there is more sets of gems

some wooden numbers

white flowers and some lace

oh and ribbon

Lots of ribbon

Now I shouldn't really be buying more

because it means more to get into the car

But when it is only 1 euro to 2.50 a roll...

I just can't resist..

Right time to get tea sorted..

Will show more cards later

Poor chappie, has waited ages to appear.

Anyway onto the card

I have made an easel card

the papers I have used are from

Summer Driggs - Boy oh Boy set

which I printed off this morning

and he is coloured with pencils

here it is

As you can see I have also made a calender

which acts as the stopper !!

probably not the correct word

I thought this would be nice to have on a work desk

and will hopefully last all year.

The ribbon on the base is woven

I got the idea from Meiflower

She does it for a wreath card

but I decided to leave it straight

A better picture of the ribbon and also the calendar

I added some square gems

Which I bought this morning from the Chinese shop

More on that later !!

Sorry..

I have a card to show..

Yes I gave in and unpacked a few things

Who was I kidding that I could last six weeks

anyway I made a sorry card

sorry for what I am unsure of yet..

I have made a gate-fold card this time

not made one in a long time

Here is the front... I kept it very simple

the papers are from the clipart fairy

the letters I found in a folder on the PC 

that just said Odds and Sodds.

So I have no Idea where they came from !!

Maybe summer driggs

here is the back.

the sentiment says

"Special Friendships are rare, 

and need to be treated with care"

I really do not know who this card is for

and made it to fit round this image

He is so cute.

The edging round him is the die that is across the top

I cut it into sections and then DS them one by one to the back

I had some blue backing paper in the scrap pile

so used that up.

I like it with the brown

Anyway I was going to leave it at that... 

why... because my machine is packed

mmm

Out came the machine

the card now looks like

So much nice...and not so nothing..!!

here is a close up...

I have used the gems I found at a local Chinese shop

in brown so they stood out a little

What did I do...

Why oh why did I pack my things....

I am bored stupid...

I coloured a couple of images yesterday

and keep looking at them thinking

they need to go onto a card...

I have also been playing with ribbon..

(I didn't pack it) 

I have followed a tutorial over at

Mei flowers

to make the Christmas wreath

and it looks fantastic when its made..

so much so I have a few sat waiting to go onto cards

So guess what

I am going to find some card and paper

without unpacking everything 

and have a play..

I really don't have room in the car for more made cards..

but I am a crafter

and have to craft.. you lot should know how that feels

Paul suggested just taking the cards I may need

(ALL OF THEM...lol)

Oh and out of boredom yesterday

I now have a Linky !!!

you see... I have an idea for when I get back to the UK

just need to look into it a little more

But one thing is for sure

I will have a blog candy

to celebrate my return to the UK

I will hit a craft shop

(for me to stock up) 

but buy double of a few things..

Exciting eh..

right I am going to go off and find some card

The Move

Well in my last post I showed pictures of MY craft stuff packed

with a pic of Tasmin

I have been asked a couple of questions about the move

So I thought I would do a blog post

to answer as many as possible.

and then just send said people the link

so here goes.

We will be travelling by car which is 2350 km

in miles that is 1460.

We leave Portugal on the 10th December 

and make our way to Bilbao in Spain 

taking about 10 hours

Once there we have to show passports

not just us the dogs have their own

We had to have these to bring them back into the UK

or it would have meant both dogs going into

quarantine..

costing us..wait for it

£1000 a month per dog !!

back onto the journey

we jump on the ferry at Bilbao which takes 24 hours

but brings us to Portsmouth and onto UK soil.

Then we just have about a 6 hour drive

in a left hand drive car 

which will be fun

(taking into account stops for the dogs)

up to Halifax to drop Kiya off

Kiya will be stopping with Paul's son Karl

until we find our new home.

we may stay over as we have not seen Karl 

for about two years now

so will be nice to catch up.

but depends on how Hector is!!

more on him in a few

We then travel from Halifax onto Caistor

which is near Brigg, to Paul's mum's house.

That is going to be our temporary home while looking for our new home.

Tasmin who usually looks like this...

A cocker spaniel not a Lab...lol

Will be going with us to Pauls mum.

The two dogs will be travelling in these

the reason being

We have to get so much in the car

having them loose would be a nightmare

We are using them now 

so they are used to being in them

and I can tell you it took three days

before Kiya would go inside.

Now these take up most of the boot

so we have bought a roof box

For our clothes.

bedding and whatever can be piled in there

We also have a box which will fit snuggly 

under the two dog cages in the boot

inside this we are hoping to get the

PC, PlayStation, WII, 

any other elecrical things

oh and I have permission to squeeze cards in there too.

Now Hector the sometimes friendly iguana

He wanted to sit on my knee... 

either that or he wanted to help with the card I was in the middle of doing

He is fairly big now

As you can see behind me his house

well what was a three door built in wardrobe.

He will be travelling on the back seat next to Hannah

This is his moving home already lined with fake turf

it is the biggest tub we can buy 

that will fit behind the passenger seat with the seat forward but I am sure he will be OK

We have a Hot water bottle with a snuggly cover 

that we will fill throughout the journey

to keep him warm

He will not be eating though

we have had advice on not feeding him two days before

because he will be so stressed 

he wouldn't digest the food

which will in turn go off in his stomach

and make him ill.

So he will be very hungry when we finally 

get to Paul's mum's

We have ordered his next home

so it should be installed and ready!!

so as soon as we get there, Hector can stretch his tail

and have something nice to eat.

So as you can see..we have a lot to fit into the car

and have had a lot to sort out

the number of lists we have made is unreal

what we would like to take

and what we CAN actually take

My die cutting machine vs a TV

the machine won...lol

anyway I will let you get off now

Yes it is Wednesday.. 

the nosy time of the week

we don't just see desk's

we also see projects in the making

Now those that follow me 

and pop over regular

will know I am moving in December

back to the UK

So I decided in my ultimate wisdom

to pack a few things..

Yes to pack you need to get everything in one place

Well I got as much as possible onto the desk..

leaving the unit drawers for later

And here is the result...

I managed to squeeze most of it into my machine box at the bottom

the other 4 are full of card, paper and printed images

ready to colour with my new pens that are waiting for me in the UK

I just have one problem now.. I have to get them 4 boxes 

into the big brown box!!

oh and not forgetting these boxes and bag

Which are stuffed full of cards that I have made !!

Am sure I will manage it somehow

So this is my desk this morning

the tubs on the shelf

are going with the removal company

the drawer unit is empty(ish)

I just need to get my ribbons in somehow

so there you have it

My messy desk and packing

Obviously I wont be making many cards 

from now until we leave in six weeks time

but then again it will unpack again!!

in Paul's words

"if it keeps you happy unpack and make cards"

Time will tell on that one

oh and not forgetting
